Plastics are probably the most versatile materials that human being has developed.

This versatility is due in part to the ability of plastics to be mixed with a wide variety of substances that can give them new properties, such as: electrical and thermal conductivity, flame retardancy, foaming, transparency, impact resistance, rigidity, flexibility also including a possible cost reduction and future recycling.

In order to achieve these good properties, a correct mixing process is essential and this will depend on a current screw design, appropriate control process, the good selection of peripherals and the experience to solve the problems that appear during the compounds production.

AIMPLAS

Licenciado en Ciencias Químicas por la Universitat de Valencia en 1997.

Con más de 21 años de experiencia en AIMPLAS como investigador en compounding y formulación de plásticos. Ha desarrollado proyectos colaborando con empresas a nivel regional, nacional y europeo, en temáticas tan diversas como: nanomateriales, bioplásticos, retardantes de llama, bioplásticos, fibras naturales, conductividad eléctrica o reciclado.

Tiene una experiencia de más de 21 años en el procesado de todo tipo de polímeros, desde "comodities”, pasando por técnicos o bioplásticos hasta polímeros de altas prestaciones. Ha impartido más de 3000 horas de clases en cursos relacionados con compounding, aditivos, cargas o inyección y también ha participado como ponente y organizador en numerosos eventos nacionales e internacionales.

Degree in Chemistry from the University of Valencia in 1997

Working at AIMPLAS (the plastic technology center in Valencia / Spain) since 2000, first in injection molding and extrusion and a few years later starting the compounding department for he was head from 2009 to 2019. From 2019 to 2021 he led the mechanical recycling group and is currently the Compounding technology Leader. His main role at AIMPLAS has been to develop R & D & I projects and technical consulting with companies at national and international level on topics such as: Technical compounds, Bioplastics, PVC formulation, Nanomaterials, electrical / thermal conductivity, natural fibres or recycling among others and from the point of view of consultancy failure analysis, equipment start-up, purchasing and selection advice, etc ... as well as training related to compound manufacturing, formulation, recycling, additivation etc ... He has taught more than 3,000 hours of classes in courses related to compounding, additives, fillers or injection and has also participated as a speaker and organizer in numerous national and international events.
